Global Responsibility

California Transparency in Supply Chain Act

Verification
Before conducting business with suppliers, Cali Bamboo uses a third party to evaluate and address risks in slavery and human trafficking. The initial audit is an announced audit.

Auditing
After the initial audit, suppliers are audited annually by a third party to evaluate their compliance with our company’s anti-slavery and human trafficking standards. If suppliers fail the audit Cali Bamboo may terminate the business relationship. The annual audit is an announced audit.

Certification
Vendors working with Cali Bamboo must read, sign, and adhere to a Vendor Code of Conduct which requires them to abide by human trafficking and slavery laws. Failure of the supplier to abide by the terms of this Code of Conduct may result in the immediate termination of the vendor agreement between Cali Bamboo and the vendor or any and all purchase orders, including, without limitation, Cali Bamboo’s cancellation of orders for goods in process or scheduled to be made at the time of cancellation or termination, whether involving raw materials, work in process, or finished goods, or in the vendor’s or a third party’s possession.

Internal Accountability
Cali Bamboo holds employees working directly with vendors accountable for failing to meet our company standards regarding human trafficking and slavery. As part of our internal accountability, employees must read and sign an Employee Code of Conduct which details responsibilities to eradicate forced labor in our supply chain and consequences for failure to do so.

Training
Employees working directly with vendors take a 60 minute in-person class that details human trafficking/slavery risks and Cali Bamboo’s actions to eradicate forced labor in its supply chain.
