At Surfrider San Diego‘s 10th Annual Art Gala last month, Cali Bamboo was named the Clean Water Award business recipient. Each year the honor is granted to an individual, a community official and a business who have made significant contributions toward helping the local chapter fulfill its mission of protecting and preserving the world’s oceans, waves and beaches. Cali Bamboo, along with accomplished San Diego musician Jason Mraz (pictured above) and Encinitas Deputy Mayor Maggie Houlihan were this year’s recipients.
“Cali Bamboo has been an integral part of our organization, and they’ve helped us achieve our mission on numerous levels. In 2009, they donated $10,000 to our cause and are active participants at many Surfrider Foundation San Diego events. They’re true green advocates and we’re extremely grateful for all they do,” said Surfrider San Diego County Chapter Coordinator Bill Hickman.
