CALI was thrilled to partner with Alex from @DIYbyDNA on her new flooring project. She’s a DIY master and shared some behind-the-scenes tips and tricks from her experience installing CALI Vinyl Longboards in her home.
We moved into our first home in 2019 and shortly after getting settled in, the world shut down due to the pandemic. Like many people during this time, we were stuck at home with not a whole lot to do! I had always enjoyed watching others share their home renovations and I figured “If they could do it, I could too!” Since we were spending more time in our home, I really wanted to make it a space that we could enjoy and feel comfortable. As a healthcare worker working through the pandemic, my home became my haven. After long shifts, I turned to DIY as an outlet.
We knew new flooring would be a huge project, and choosing the right floor for the space would be crucial. After doing tons of research, CALI Vinyl Longboards checked all of the boxes. The flooring itself is beautiful. My favorite part is the fact that the planks are 9” wide and over 70” long. They make any space feel so much bigger!
Installation was so DIY-friendly. I had never installed LVP flooring before so I was pleased to learn how simple it was! I went room by room and worked on the floors as I had time off from my full time job. I’d say it probably took me two months to get through the entire 1,600 sqft home.
Being a DIY family and the owners of a 60lb lab, durability was a nonnegotiable. Between paint spills and playtime with our pooch, these floors have been able to withstand it all!
We didn’t have to adjust our lifestyle based on the materials we put in our home. We love that our CALI floors allow us to live our life just as we would and not have to worry about any damage.
